General Questions

  • A free live music information hub - designed with the input of artists in the TCI to support musicians / DJs and the live music community in the Turks and Caicos Islands. With so many talented artists - from musicians, to bands, DJs, sound and production, and more - it is hard to know who is who and how to find people. While things do change by month and even last minute, we will aim to keep this site as up to date as possible to help music lovers find their favorite TCI musicians any day of the week and be able to contact them directly for private events, weddings, or just to tell them you had the best time listening to them!

  • Nope, this site is simply an information hub about live music in the Turks and Caicos. Please do not contact us with any official questions - there are existing organizations established to help with that (see below).

Musicians of the Turks and Caicos (MOTTAC):

The official organization representing the musicians of TCI is MOTTAC (the Musicians of the Turks and Caicos). Formed in 2019, MOTTAC “represents the formation of a formal advocate coalition of all branches within the entertainment and music industry including; Vocalists, Instrumentalists, DJ’s, Engineers, Technical Support, Promoters etc. After years of attempts, it is the first successfully established association of its kind within the Turks and Caicos Islands; promoting unity, creativity and productivity.” (Read more: TCI SUN)

Contact details for MOTTAC can be found on their Facebook page or reach them by email at musiciansoftheturksandcaicos@gmail.com.

Also good to know, MOTTAC held a Music Festival in 2019. Hopefully we see another coming back soon! Learn more about the festival here: rtc89fm and tcweeklynews.com

    Turks & Caicos Tourist Board:

You can also contact the Turks & Caicos Tourist Board via Facebook, IG, or turksandcaicostourism.com

Otherwise, contact musicians directly with any questions for them. Find contact details for artists on the musician, band, DJ, and sound / production pages.

  • Ripsaw (or rake ‘n’ scrape) is the traditional music of the Turks and Caicos. It is ‘created by scrapping a metal rod, such a screwdriver, over a saw blade which creates a scrapping sound. To spice-up the scrapping sound local musicians add drums, a triangle, piano and a guitar to develop the perfect melody ‘ (source: TCIMALL.TC)

Junkanoo is also central to the cultural heritage of TCI - ‘it is a dance, musical transcendence of harmonious sounds, and is culturally embedded in Turks and Caicos’ ancestral lineage. Junkanoo was at first spontaneous cultural expression enacted by slaves on the days they had some freedom. Christmas and New Year were the days the slaves celebrated and to this day the tradition remains the same.’ ‘A kaleidoscope of colorful’ costumes + ripsaw music, this is a tradition not to be missed. In addition to the annual events, see weekly performances at the Fish Fry (source: TCI Tourist Board)

If you are on Provo, check out the Junkanoo Museum at 18 Old Airport Road (next door to the Snack Spot). Check out junkanoomuseum.com for more info and book a tour by contacting (649) 242-4528

  • There are direct contact details for every musician, band, and DJ. You will find Facebook and Instagram handles, email addresses, phone numbers, and websites (as available). Most of this information has been verified directly with the artist otherwise it has been taken from their public social media profiles. However, information does change. While we do our best to keep it up to date, it is your responsibility to confirm who you are talking to (basically don’t send deposits for private events without being sure you are in touch with the right person!). LiveMusicTCI does not take any responsibility for any inaccuracies in contact details.

Find contact details for artists on the musician, band, DJ, and sound / production pages.

  • No, this is simply an information hub. We are here to support the artists and help them be reached directly. Please contact the artists directly for any booking inquiries.

  • Musicians rely on and greatly appreciate your tips. Many will put out a tip jar but even if they don’t, they will still very much appreciate a tip so simply walk up and hand it to them! If you forget cash, contact the musician directly and we are sure they will help you find a way to tip them :)

  • Did you get their name? If so please send it and tell us more - and send any photos and information too! There is an impressive young music scene on Provo and the sister islands so please help us support new artists.

Note, if they were a musician visiting from another country you might see them listed in annual or special events but they will not be in the directory. The directory here is only for musicians, bands, and DJs that are based in the TCI.

  • Unfortunately this does happen as schedules can change, even at the last minute. From private events, to rainy weather, to the slow season, there are numerous reasons why schedules do change. We are doing our best to keep this site up to date but it is not updated daily. Please always call the venues or contact the artists to confirm schedules. Also help us stay up to date - if our information is outdated (versus a one off change that night) please email hello@livemusictci.com and let us know. This is a volunteer run site that relies on everyone’s input!

  • There are many clubs, DJs, and related parties / events around TCI - and too many for us to keep up with. We have listed the main annual events here and will continually add special events as they are sent to us, but if the DJ / club scene is your thing, there are other sites and event promoters ready to help you. For example:

    La Lux Events

    Party in Turks

    SBON Events

    Ballaz Promotions

    Kickoff Weekends

    Shisha Lounge

Please let us know about other event promoters we should feature!

  • We are focused on musicians and venues that support live music. If you are looking for other information, there are so many great sites and Facebook groups out there ready to help with all your questions about the Turks and Caicos.

  • This is a free information site so while we do not take donations, your input and experience is how we can keep making this site better. Please send photos, videos, insider tips, any updates / corrections, site suggestions or anything else you think would be helpful. Also the best way to help is to spread the word about live music in the TCI!

We also recognize everyone has different preferences and experiences when it comes to bars, restaurants, and resorts. We have done our best to represent the ambiance, food, drinks, and insider tips for the various venues with live music. We also know the ambiance (and service and food…) can vary from one night to the rest. We hope you have the best experience - and are open to hearing about yours whether it is similar or different to how it is currently described.

Let’s work together to make this site as useful as possible so it best supports the artists of the TCI and the venues and events that support live music. Email hello@livemusictci.com. Thanks in advance for helping!

For Musicians, Bands, and DJs

  • Thanks for asking! A best effort was made at putting together artist profiles, adding your schedule, and linking to available social media accounts, YouTube channels, SoundCloud, and similar. Your input will help us make your profile better and help your fans learn about you and follow you. Please email hello@livemusictci.com with any updates and help us improve your profile!

  • The easiest is to send us a link to YouTube, Vimeo, or Soundcloud. If you are unable to do this, please email it to us and we can work on an alternative solution.

  • The directory is designed to make it easier for people to learn about and hire musicians, bands, and DJs. The musician directory only lists musicians who do solo gigs. Musicians that are part of bands are listed within the band profile. For musicians that perform solo and as part of a band, you will be listed on both pages.

If we are missing you or your band please email us your information so we can add you!

For Venues and Event Promoters

  • Help us promote your venue by ensuring our information is accurate and up to date. Please email us your latest live music schedules and information on special events, happy hours, and such so we can share with others! Email us any updates at hello@livemusictci.com. And don’t be shy, if you have updates every week we would love to hear it :)

  • Email us any information at hello@livemusictci.com and we will happily add you! Be sure to include a photo / promo image. If you have videos or YouTube links to videos, send those as well!

For Photographers

  • Amazing! If you already have photos of the musicians that are available to share, please send them to us along with a link to your website or social media and we will be sure to credit you. Email us at hello@livemusictci.com

There are also many musicians who would greatly appreciate new photos and videos. Reach out to them directly or send us an email and we can let you know what musicians / venues are prime for new content!

We would love to support (and credit) all the great local TCI photographers - and will happily replace the photos we have taken with professional content :)

  • Yes! If you send a photo to be included, be sure to include your name and web / social link (if applicable) so we can properly credit you.

  • For musician / band / and DJ photos, we have received images directly from many artists and also relied heavily on social media images and credited them accordingly.

We have done a best effort to credit all photos that were not taken by our volunteers - and where relevant, promote the photographer by providing a direct link to the photo or their photography site. We are not perfect. Please let us know if we have missed or mislabeled a credit where a credit is due - or if you have taken a photo that you would prefer we do not use, just let us know so we can remove it.

Photos taken by our volunteers are credited as ‘LiveMusicTCI’.

  • Any of the photos or videos credited to others do not belong to us and therefore you need to contact the original owner for the rights to publish.

For photos and videos taken by LiveMusicTCI volunteers you are welcome to use these for non-commercial purposes as long as you provide credit to LiveMusicTCI.com. For commercial purposes, please contact us at hello@livemusictci.com to discuss further.

If you are not sure if the content is from LiveMusicTCI or a 3rd party just send us an email and we can let you know.
