It kicks off with a Calcutta-style betting night (with pots reaching over $220,000), then launches into two days of offshore fishing for wahoo, tuna, and mahimahi — where the heaviest haul takes the prize.

On the final day, 100+ players tee off in a four-person golf scramble. Salt Cay Day is a warm-hearted homecoming that draws families back to their island roots. One of Turks & Caicos’ oldest and most beloved traditions, the Big South Regatta began in 1966 to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s first royal visit to the islands.

What started as a celebration of maritime heritage and boatbuilding has grown into a full weekend of festivities—complete with sloop races, live music, cultural performances, seafood feasts, and friendly competition. It’s a proud display of South Caicos spirit, honoring the island’s legacy and deep connection to the sea.

Grace Bay Beach, Providenciales

Now in its second decade, the Race for the Conch Eco-SeaSwim is an open-water event held in the award-winning turquoise waters of Grace Bay. Staged on the beach in front of Rickie’s Flamingo Café, swimmers can choose from 2.4-mile, 1-mile, or 0.5-mile races—plus a 100-meter kids’ splash for ages 10 and under. The race kicks off to the sound of a conch shell, launching one of the Caribbean’s premier open-water swim experiences.

The event draws both recreational swimmers and seasoned athletes, with handcrafted conch shell medals and trophies for top finishers. Proceeds support local causes, including youth swim programs, the TCI Reef Fund, and the Red Cross.

Local Village, Grand Turk

It all went down in Grand Turk in July 2023 at the GT Link Up Weekend. It kicked off with a pre-event at the Sandbar the night before, featuring Elroy & the Rake n Scrape band. The music festival took over on the weekend, with the top local bands, musicians, and DJs from Provo putting on an 8+ hour concert.

A summer favorite on Grand Turk, ‘Grub, Grill & Good Times’ is a lively evening of food, music, and community held from 4PM to 11PM on the deck at the National Museum in the historic Guinep House.

Past years have featured a BBQ and conch fritter cook-off, local food vendors, kids’ games, and live music — with the V6 Band and Zeus taking the stage in 2025! The atmosphere is easy and upbeat, with raffle prizes sponsored by generous Grand Turk businesses and a warm welcome for all. It’s a great way to celebrate island culture, support heritage preservation, and reconnect with friends under the stars.

This isn’t just a weekend—it’s a full-blown house music escape. The vibe builds across curated parties at Cielo in Grace Bay, including The Revolution Party on Friday and the Liberation Disco After Party on Saturday. There’s also a fundraiser at Grace Bay Club featuring youth performances, DJ sets, and a dance workshop in support of the Edward Gartland Youth Centre.

The grand finale? The Evolution Beach Party on Water Cay, where glitter, body paint, and bold costumes light up an all-day barefoot dance fest. Arrive by boat or jet ski and step into a sea of rhythm, color, and pure island energy—this is house music, TCI-style.

Observed annually on August 1st, Emancipation Day honors the abolition of slavery in the British West Indies and celebrates the strength, freedom, and cultural identity of Turks & Caicos Islanders. Events take place across the country — esp. in Provo, Grand Turk, and North Caicos — with live music, local food, cultural performances, storytelling, and more.

In Grand Turk, the day includes a Walk of Freedom, a formal ceremony at the Clock Tower, and a lively Family Fun Day with domino tournaments and performances by local artists. It's a meaningful blend of reflection and celebration — commemorating the past while inspiring the future.

It’s part boat race, part floating party, and all-out fun. Hosted by the TCI Boat Club, this high-octane summer tradition sends dozens of boats speeding across the Caicos Cays to five different stops—collecting a playing card at each one. At the final stop, the best poker hand wins big prizes (and even bigger bragging rights).

The 2025 route includes South Bank Marina, Five Cays Community Center, Rickie’s Flamingo Café, Blue Hills Jetty, and Turtle Cove Marina—with live music, food stalls, and party vibes at every stop. Whether you’re captaining a boat or just soaking it up from shore, the Poker Run is a favorite summer weekend for locals and visitors alike. Look out for @turksrippers sharing the best boating moments of the day.

A four-day summer celebration of Caribbean music, culture, and community, this flagship festival lights up Providenciales with concerts, pageantry, and high-energy events. It kicks off with the Fish Fry at Stubbs Plaza, followed by the Miss Universe TCI Pageant and Saturday’s main event—TCI Music Fest at the National Stadium, headlined by Kes the Band in 2025 and featuring reggae, soca, afrobeats, rake-and-scrape, and rising Caribbean talent.

On Sunday, the Trevor Ariza Celebrity Golf Tournament wraps the weekend in style. More than just a concert series, this is a movement for culture and unity—“one country, one cause, one moment in history,” as described by the Minister of Tourism.

A two-day celebration of the largest—and perhaps the most peaceful—of the Turks and Caicos Islands, MC Expo Weekend is as local and laid-back as it gets. Held on the idyllic shores of Bambarra Beach, the weekend features live music, kids games, domino tournaments, local vendors, and heaping plates of island food served with smiles.

Getting there from Provo is part of the magic: ferry to North, drive across the causeway to Middle, and you’ll find yourself on a different kind of island time. In the words of Mikey the General, “I soon reach!”

It’s a community gathering that welcomes all—whether you grew up on the Twin Islands or are just ready to get off Provo.

In South Caicos, fishing isn’t just a way of life — it’s the backbone of the community. Held annually in late August on the pier at the Conch Ground in Cockburn Harbour, Big South Fisherman’s Day honors the men and women who’ve shaped TCI’s fishing legacy with a full day of celebration.

Expect a fishing tournament, conch competitions, boat races, domino battles, and an all-day food and music fest — with past performances by The Provision Band and DJ Pop. The vibe is pure South: BIG, strong, proud, and welcoming. Keep an ear out for stories of local legends like Big Cow, and don’t be surprised if the dock turns into a dance floor.

A vibrant, family-centered event celebrating TCI’s young people as part of National Youth Week, Family Fun Day kicks off with a Peace March and rolls into a full day of games, performances, and community spirit.

Events are hosted across Providenciales, Grand Turk, North, and South Caicos, with each island bringing its own energy to the celebration. Expect obstacle courses, art corners, raffle prizes, school band performances, youth-led cultural showcases, live DJ sets, and plenty of food and fun.

Organized by the Department of Youth Affairs, it’s a joyful, nationwide showcase of creativity, leadership, and unity—designed to empower the next generation and bring families together.

Fashion meets fundraising at this high-energy breast cancer awareness event, held each fall at the newly remodeled Palms Resort. Guests glam up in pink and take over the hotel for a night of shopping, spa treats, cocktails, and a high-style party complete with poker, prizes, and plenty of bubbly.

The resort suites transform into chic mini boutiques offering everything from designer fashion to jewelry and luxury goods—plus plenty of surprise finds at every price point. After shopping, the celebration spills into the lush courtyard for the Pink After Party, where DJs spin under the stars and a silent auction keeps the giving going.

One of the largest annual fundraisers in Turks & Caicos, In the Pink raises over $85k annually in support of the TCI National Cancer Society, with all proceeds going toward local cancer care and early detection.

RICKY’S FLAMINGO CAFE

Reggae rhythms, local flavor, and a whole lot of vibes on Grace Bay Beach.

Held on the beach at Rickie’s Flamingo Café, the Sand Jam music festival spotlights local and international artists—past headliners include Maxi Priest, Mighty Mystic, and Christopher Martin, alongside local legends like the TCI band Sagittarius and Quinton Dean. Proceeds support the Music is Life Foundation and its work with music programs in Turks and Caicos public schools.

Boxing Day bursts into celebration with Maskanoo, a dazzling street festival that transforms the Grace Bay strip into a swirl of music, movement, and cultural pride. Rooted in African heritage & Bahamian Junkanoo traditions — but distinctly Turks and Caicos in flair — Maskanoo blends live entertainment, dancing, and local artistry into a one-of-a-kind holiday tradition. The festivities kick off in the afternoon with family-friendly performances and street eats, building into an all-out street party by night.

Junkanoo is one of Turks and Caicos’ most powerful cultural traditions — an electrifying street parade rooted in African heritage and the history of Caribbean resistance. Originating during the time when enslaved people were given one day to celebrate freely, it lives on in a night of rhythm, movement, and deep meaning.

Just after midnight on New Year’s Day, downtown Provo comes alive with the “Rush Out” — a high-energy procession led by the iconic We Funk Junkanoo band. Costumed dancers fill the streets to the sound of goatskin drums, cowbells, whistles, and horns, while locals gather for pig roasts, music, and an unforgettable start to the year. Want to learn more?
