Chinson’s Grill Shack
Location: Leeward Highway (near Turtle Cove)
Ambiance: Relaxed, unpretentious roadside‑grill style spot perched over Leeward highway. It feels local — picnic‑table seating outside, a functioning bar, and a straightforward atmosphere with no pretension. Expect a mix of visitors and locals grabbing food or drinks, often takeout or casual dinners rather than “dining out.”
Best Bet for Live Music (in season): every Friday from 4 - 10 pm
Recent Lineup: DJ Chin, QBand Lynks (special events)
Food & Drink: Hearty Caribbean‑style fare: jerk chicken, BBQ ribs or pork, oxtail, conch fritters, pulled pork, seasoned fries, and more comfort‑style dishes — plus a Chinese‑caribbean fusion menu if you want variety. Portions are generous, prices are relatively modest, (menu)
Happy Hour: no but reasonable prices and good value every day
Local‑style BBQ, jerk and comfort food done right — Chinson’s Grill Shack keeps it simple and satisfying. Big portions, reasonable prices, and a laid‑back vibe make it a solid stop if you’re after real island‑style eats, occasional live music or a DJ night.
“Amazing Food & Service! Stopped in for an early dinner. We were a bit lost at first since we had never been before. We found someone who worked there who became our server. She was amazing. We sat on the outdoor deck. There was live music and as the night grew the crowd grew as well. There were locals stopping in as well which means that the food is great! And so it was. Tasty, generous portions and great presentation! Highly recommend. Service was amazing, ambiance was relaxing and fun, price is good relative to the island. We had Jerk chicken, Oxtail and Stewed Goat. All really great”

“Fantastic Casual Spot for AMAZING jerk chicken. The food here is the real deal. The BBQ and jerk chicken were amazing, also the ribs. Locals go here and it's fun place with the lights and music. It is technically right on the highway, but it's perched up high and it's not a fast, busy highway so really not an issue.”

“Waitress was very friendly, the owner stopped by personally to greet us. It was a very friendly local kind of place. You could order Chinese or local cuisine so we ordered the Jerk Chicken and the Fish and Chips. The fish was fresh and moist, the jerk chicken was also tasty with the choice of 2 sides. There is plenty of outdoor patio seating. Overall, it was a pleasant inexpensive meal. There was a DJ that was playing a nice variety of music.”
